Umida Hikmatilla, Ed.D.

CEO and Founder

Dr. Umida Hikmatilla has worked in higher education as a Program coordinator and Lecturer for over twenty years, including at Indiana University and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. A pioneer in online language education, she brings a STEM-informed background in instructional design and is trained in qualitative research methods.

Umida has led program evaluations and needs assessments for multiple agencies, applying human performance improvement models and developing evidence-based recommendations, including high-impact practices such as ePortfolios. Her current work focuses on curriculum design, educational technology, and supporting educators in developing effective, transformative teaching practices.

Laura Adams

Laura Adams, Ph.D

Senior Academic Advisor

Dr. Laura Adams has worked in international development and academia, including at Harvard University as Director of the Program on Central Asia and the Caucasus, Academic Advisor to the M.A. program in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Area Studies, and a Lecturer in Sociology. She has also served as an advisor for monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) with civil society and media organizations worldwide.

Laura has published in peer-reviewed journals and written extensively on qualitative research methods. For fifteen years, she has mentored scholars from Central Asia and brings deep knowledge of Russian and Uzbek languages and cultures.

Carter Tran is a senior studying Human Resources Management at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Passionate about connecting with others and helping them become the best version of themselves, he is pursuing a career in organizational coaching, training, and development.

Bridging his academic knowledge with real-world practice, Carter also engages with the South Central Indiana Human Resources Association, allowing him to stay at the forefront of modern HR trends, talent development, and networking strategies.
